"When we feel that our performance is hopeless, we get discouraged and conclude that, whatever be the general truth that prayer is needful, for me at any rate, no doubt because of my inadequacy, it is a waste of time and I had better do something really useful for God. Once again, we are forgetting the truth that God is the doer and the giver. Christian prayer is nothing other than being present to God so that God can give to us. The only thing that matters is that we believe this and stay there, regardless of how we feel or don't feel.”
