God IS the Prayer

Archdeacon A.L. Lilley
“The consistently characteristic Christian view has been that mere man cannot pray at all, that no movement of desire on the part of the natural man can constitute real prayer. It is God in us that prays. It is our nature penetrated by the divine Spirit, and assisted by the divine grace, that is alone capable of prayer in the full Christian sense.”

  1. I suppose this is why we are called to meditate. In the silence we become open to God's prayer within us. PW

  2. Love this quote. My way of doing intercessory prayer is to hold, for example, a person, in my mind, step into the Presence and be silent, offering that person the God.

    1. An expression of faith such as you describe is exactly what the writer means.

    1. Gloriamarie - the spammer only seems to come in on this one quote, at least so far. Ahhh, the madness of this world...

    2. I am sorry that you have to put up with it. On my blog, the settings allow me to approve all comments so it is spam and troll free.

On my facebook groups, potential members must answer a screening question to prove to me they are legit.

Although one of them has been targetd by a bot and FB is not doing much to help. Such a bore.

BTW, I love his banner photo too. Is it a real place as is Wish River?
