The Will in Prayer

Bernadette Roberts

"I have long been aware of my own will-power, it was my experiential reality, virtually my life’s energy, that I knew to be somewhere in the center of myself. Over a period of time, this identification of the will would have more meaning in my life than any other piece of information, data or concept to come my way. Not for a moment did I think my will was in my head or thinking brain, on the contrary, it was a silent, unthinking power-house in the center of my being, and when its power was directed first and foremost to God, this was true love of God."
