A Life Changing Glimpse of God

Bernadette said that one glimpse of God will ruin your life because now you will never be happy with how things were before you had that glimpse; from that point on, you are going in pursuit. God lets his presence, his mystery, be known and sets us in pursuit of him.  In Christianity we call this life-changing experience of the Divine the conversion experience.

However the state of perfect oneness with the Divine is beyond all experiences, beyond our faults, failings and weaknesses, even beyond our self, as we know it. Perfect oneness means that we experience continuous, uninterrupted awareness of the Divine, perfect love of God and other people. Due to our limitations at this time, our idea of perfect oneness is a subtle seeking of our own human perfection, but only as we understand perfection now, envision it or expect it to be at this time. We may not be entirely sure what perfect oneness is, but we continue to seek it so long as we do not know for sure that we have it.
