Making the Angels Weep

Shakespeare

"Man, proud man!
Dressed in a little brief authority:
Most ignorant of what he's most assur'd,
His glassy essence* – like an angry ape
Plays such fantastic tricks before high heaven,
As make the angels weep.

"Though authority be an stubborn bear,
yet he is oft led by the nose with gold."

(*His "glassy essence" — the fragility of his soul.)

[Day Book Readers - As you may know by now, the blog site has developed a weird blip. Instead of the regular one post a day format - it is suddenly picking up one or two others from past days, and adding them to what is being sent out. I am not doing it, and I have no idea why it is happening, but I'm working on it.]
