Death is the birth canal into eternal life. The only thing that really dies is the false self and the brain on which it depends. Once the brain has ceased to exist, the true self can make an unobstructed and totally free choice of God.
To accept death is to accept God. It is the crown of all our spiritual efforts. It is the completion of the spiritual journey so that we can enter into the unveiled presence of God and see God face-to-face.
World Without End
[Today is All Souls' Day, the day for Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed, that is, of the souls of all who have died. It follows All Saints' Day and is the special day to remember deceased relatives and friends. ..... Caught up with thousands of others in the recent fires, evacuations and power outage, the week got away from me. There will be no quote posted tomorrow, Sunday. I hope to sit down soon and post something for the rest of the week. The recent emergencies made for a terrifying and exhausting week. I had no idea how addicted I am to electricity and the tools and distractions it brings. And in the same way, I discovered the importance of communication with others.]
