The Fruit of True Prayer

Note this well, when such things as spiritual gifts, ecstasy, spiritual experiences, happen to the soul, or later, when she experiences that prayer which I have called perfect contemplation, and yet she does not emerge with a firm determination to serve God, and when occasion arises she does not accept it as a duty to pardon any injury whatever, however serious that may be, then let her not have much confidence in her prayers.
