A Person of True Prayer

Have you ever met a person of true prayer, a person who has taken God seriously and who has gone through the initiation of the burning bush? If you have, you will understand what I am saying, even though it is awkwardly expressed. You cannot meet such a person and have anything to do with him or her without going through the same initiation.

Such people are rare because few contemplatives know how to live with their heads in heaven and their feet on the ground. This demands so much purification, so much silence and prayer that most people flee from contact with God. They are afraid of losing themselves and their security. But if God lets you have the joy of meeting one of these people, do not miss the chance of being in touch with him or her. If you had only one serious meeting with such a person, you would go away transformed and would live in the memory of this meeting for the rest of your life.

The service these people give to the Church and the world comes from their communion with God. They are present to the world and to humanity in the very place where people find their beginnings. The world has never needed these witnesses as much as today, rooted as they are in the eternal, which gives stability and firmness to our lives.
